Crossing the Chasm from the Internet

Event Overview:

At the speed of light, three dimensional parallel universes and their immersive communities -whether they be virtual worlds of shopping centers, nightclubs or interactive gaming- went from “radical fringe” to mainstream, with multinationals around the world setting up their own islands to be represented in this new part of the internet galaxy. Now the next frontier may be the most complex one to cross yet – mobile platforms. All players in the tech eco-system are setting stakes to offer consumers new options in social interactivity of all forms:

* Companies already entrenched in virtual worlds and interactive gaming, where mobile devicese the next BIG opportunity
* Social networking and community enterprises hoping to add a third dimension to their community and/or “go mobile”
* The enablers and supporters, whether they be investors who fund and help scale these enterprises or technology plays, such as payment systems, operating systems and platforms…

This conference is the first of its kind to listen to all the voices in the eco-system as they discuss what opportunities will be available and what the challenges are to realize this goal, when communities are able to connect, communicate and share content on these mobile devices, how the location-specific abilities and information be integrated, where should we look for emerging markets for web content when it becomes accessible to billions of cell-phone users.

Speaker Bios: Paul Anderson, Chief Executive Officer, Veepers has over 20 years of international legal, business development, and sales experience. Prior to his role at Pulse Entertainment Inc., Mr. Anderson was a vice president at Openwave Systems.

Mr. Anderson also spent 10 years with Adobe Systems, Inc. where he helped establish the company’s first Japanese office and developed its application business in Asia. He began his career practicing law for Ware & Freidenrich (now Piper Rudnick, Gray Cary), a leading law firm for technology companies in the Silicon Valley.

Michael C. Doran, Principal, Fish & Richardson P.C. He is a member of the firm’s Corporate and Securities Group. Mr. Doran’s practice focuses on a full range of corporate and securities matters for technology companies, including corporate formation, angel and venture financings, mergers and acquisitions, technology licensing, securities law compliance, corporate governance and general business counseling for both public and private companies. Martin Dunsby, President & CEO, Vollee, he works closely with leading mobile operators and content publishers around the world to create and launch innovative, high value 3G services to drive their business success. A 17 year veteran of the telecommunications industry, Martin has had experience as an engineer, consultant, and executive since the early days of analog cellular systems and the Internet. Martin joined Vollee from mobile solutions provider Openwave Systems, formerly known as phone.com, where he served as general manager and senior vice president. Previously Martin was vice president of sales and operations for engineering consultancy inCode Wireless (acquired by Verisign), and at Deloitte Consulting he was the partner who founded and led Deloitte’s Global Wireless practice.

Joe Jasin, Vice President, SKT has built an international career within the wireless telecommunications industry, with depth of experience that spans more than 14 years. His background includes roles in technology, business operations, corporate strategic investments and founder of two wireless businesses. Currently he serves as Vice President of Corporate Investments for SK Telecom, the largest mobile operator in Korea.

Mr. Jasin focuses on outside activities also focus in large part on Asia. He presently holds positions with numerous committee and industry groups. Mr. Jasin is the founder and chair of the Software Development Forum’s Mobile Internet group.

Baris Karadogan, Executive Board Member, partner, Velocity Interactive Group who focuses on the Internet and digital media investments. Prior to joining Velocity Interactive, Baris worked six years at U.S. Venture Partners, a leading Silicon Valley-based venture capital firm.

Before becoming a venture capitalist, Baris worked in both engineering and marketing at 3Com/U.S. Robotics, where he worked to develop the company’s networking and cable industry products.

Steve Livingston, Chief Marketing Officer, mBlox’s leads mBlox’s global marketing strategy and directs all marketing activities including marketing communications, product marketing and product development.

During a career spanning more than 25 years, Steve has built impressive marketing and sales experience at market leading technology and telecoms companies including Bytemobile, AT&T Wireless, AirTouch, and IBM. Most recently, Steve was employed as Executive Vice-President at Bytemobile.

Anders Nancke-Krogh, Head of Development, Point&Find business program, Nokia has been defining, building and launching mobile services for the consumer since the stone age of the connected mobile phone. During the last 8 years with Nokia, Anders has among other been leading the N-Gage.com team, covering web & mobile gaming community as well as eCommerce. Currently he is heading R&D in the new Nokia business program Point&Find – an innovative mobile service that we believe will change the way people view search.

Rob Osborn, Director of eXplo at Gemini Mobile Technologies, a privately-held, US-based wireless software company specializing in mobile community and messaging products. Gemini was the first company to launch a 3D mobile community service, called S!Town, on SoftBank Mobile in Japan. Today, S!Town has over 250,000 registered users and continues to grow primarily through word of mouth. Prior to joining Gemini, Mr. Osborn was General Manager of the Radio Network Department at Vodafone K.K., prior to that, he was Deputy General Manager of Supply Chain at Vodafone K.K.– Project Big Bang. Mr. Osborn has 13 years’ experience in wireless and fixed line telecommunications.

Nate Redmond, Rustic Canyon draws on entrepreneurial and strategic advisory experience to invest in and build transformational companies. He focuses on opportunities in clean technology and digital media. Before joining Rustic Canyon, Mr. Redmond managed investments and advisory work for Professor Clayton Christensen at the Harvard Business School. Previously, Mr. Redmond co-founded an Internet infrastructure company and helped launch two other early web companies. Mr. Redmond began his career with the Boston Consulting Group as a consultant to technology firms on new product development and business strategy.

Mandar Shinde, Title: Director of Product Marketing, Mandar comes from a computer science background with deep contribution towards the growth in the Application Server area (a.k.a J2EE), the mobile application space (J2ME Expert), and an avid open source contributor (JGroups). Mandar has worked in developing fault tolerant servers at Fujitsu to developing extremely small mass distribution client software with Seven Networks. Mandar is currently serving in the capacity of Director of Product Marketing for the Device Solutions
business Unit at Smith Micro Software (nasdaq: smsi).

Sharon Wienbar, Managing Director, Scale Venture invests in mobile, internet, and enterprise software companies at Scale Venture Partners, which she joined in 2001. Sharon sits on the Boards of Biz360, Facetime Communications, Glu Mobile, MerchantCircle, PlayPhone, Reply!com and Waterfront Media.

Prior to Scale VP, Sharon spent 15 years at Critical Path, Amplitude Software, Adobe Systems and Bain & Company. Sharon holds a BA and MA in Engineering from Harvard University, and an MBA from the Stanford Graduate School of Business.

Tomasz Wojtowicz co-founder of W2Pi Studios. Prior to starting W2Pi Studios Mr. Wojtowicz was a Technologies Trainer for Rauland-Borg Corporation with over 7 years of experience. During his employment with Rauland-Borg Mr. Wojtowicz worked with the developing team responsible for the Telecenter CPS Media Management System. Prior to Rauland-Borg Corp. Mr. Wojtowicz worked for AT&T as a senior level WAN developer for the North American division.

Richard Wong, Accel joined the team in 2006, with a focus on mobile and broadband services software, as well as messaging and security applications. Rich currently serves on the board of AdMob, the leading mobile advertising company, and Sana Security. Rich was previously GM of Messaging Products, growing the business from $50MM to $180MM from 2003 to 2005, and Chief Marketing Officer from 2001 to 2003. While at Openwave, Rich founded and chaired the Messaging Anti-Abuse Working Group. Previously Rich was the Chief Marketing Officer and EVP/GM of Value-Added Services at Covad Communications, the DSL provider. During his time Covad revenue grew from $5MM to $250MM. Preceding Covad, he was a management consultant for McKinsey & Company, focusing on software and consumer technology. Rich started his career as a Brand Manager at Procter & Gamble
